A Message From Pastor Doug

Agony of Defeat and the Thrill of Victory

My most recent softball game ended disastrously.  I was batting with the bases loaded in the bottom of the last inning.  There was one out and our team needed only one run to win the game.  I grounded into a game-ending double play.  The worst possible result.  A devastating and haunting result.  I let down my entire team.

PTL our salvation from eternal death is not like a softball game, with winning being dependent upon us being perfect and not failing!  Our winning eternal life, despite all of our failures, is due to the glorious result of Jesus Christ giving Himself for us and delivering us from this present evil world, according to the will of God our Father.

I will fail again and feel the agony of defeat again.  But the Living God cannot fail; He changes not and is perfect in all of His ways.  Thanks to Jesus, I know the thrill of victory forever.  So in all circumstances trust in God Who raises the dead and do not trust in yourself.

We Are So Glad Your Here

We’re casual and we don’t have any particular dress code for our gatherings, so come as you are. What matters is on the inside - your heart.  Come join us with a heart to worship our Lord Jesus Christ in song, in prayer, and in the study of God's Word.

In our adult services, we focus on a personal relationship with the Lord through worship and prayer and the teaching of the Word of God. We teach the Bible, the entire counsel of God from Genesis to Revelation, in an expository manner, verse-by-verse to get the context and the plain meaning of what God is saying to us. We do not allow speaking loudly in tongues or the interpretation of those tongues if there is a Bible study in progress. We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operational today, but we believe that God will not interrupt Himself.

This ministry exists to worship Jesus Christ and challenge the men to be effective disciples of Jesus Christ in all areas of their lives. To this end, the men meet regularly to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, study of God’s Word, fellowship, and Biblical accountability.

It is our desire that the Women’s Ministry of Calvary Ahwatukee encourage the Women to be students of God’s Word. As wives, mothers, sisters and daughters, we need God’s perspective and strength to face the challenges of everyday life. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”.

For times and days see below.

It is our desire and privilege to assist parents guide the Lord’s littlest ones to fall in love with Jesus Christ, to call upon Him as Lord and Savior, and to grow in their knowledge of Him.

Our prayer is that each child, by faith, will develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

For Times and days see below.

It is our desire that this generation of believers would be equipped with and grounded in the Word of God. It is our desire that they would bring glory to the Risen Savior through their actions toward believers and unbelievers alike.

Bible Reading Plans

Study to shew thyself approved  unto God, a workman that  needeth not to be ashamed, rightly  dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

  • This schedule is primarily for reading  purposes.  It is not intended to replace your  personal study time in the Word for  specific topics or studies.
If you follow it you will have  gone through the Bible in a year.

  • Keep this reading schedule inside your Bible and  seek a time and place of quiet to study the Word.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide and  teach you as you study the Word.
Remember two principles when reading: “The Bible interprets the Bible,” and always ask, “Where is Jesus in this passage.”

  • The Blue Letter Bible hosts a range of study materials designed to aid your research into the meaning and purpose of the Scriptures. From text commentaries to audio sermons, to charts, outlines, images, and maps—our goal is to offer you fresh avenues of insight and clear paths to a better, more robust interpretation of God's Word.
