Good Friday

I want to share what God has said…NOT my opinion

What God has revealed to man in His Word:  Good News

1 Cor 15:3-4
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that
Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Gen 2:16-17
And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the
garden thou mayest freely eat:  But of the tree of the knowledge of good
and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou
shalt surely die.

Gen 3

Adam and Eve disobeyed, did what appealed to their physical being and
rejecting what God commanded for their spiritual well-being
i.e.  their will and not God’s will
   the fall of man”

All descendants of Adam and Eve were/are born with a “fallen” nature –
   a sin nature of wrong-doing and wrong-being

Is 59:2

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your
sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

But God made a Way home for anyone who would believe Him

Gen 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed
and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh
unto the Father, but by me.
    (The way back to Life)

1 Tim 1:15-16
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus
came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.  Howbeit for this
cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all
longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him
to life everlasting.

Rom 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
(none have a right-being much less perfectly right-doing)

Rom 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our
Lord Jesus Christ

Rom 5:6-12, 15-21
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly.  For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure
for a good man some would even dare to die.  But God commendeth his
love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from
wrath through him.  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to
God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be
saved by his life.  And not only so, but we also joy in God through our
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and
so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:  But not as the
offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be
dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one
man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.  And not as it was by one
that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation,
but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.  For if by one man's
offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance
of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus
Christ.)  Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men
to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came
upon all men unto justification of life.  For as by one man's disobedience
many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made
righteous.  Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But
where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:  That as sin hath
reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto
eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through
Jesus Christ our Lord

Eph 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Rom 10:9-13, 17
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever
believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between
the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call
upon him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved….So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Cor 15:20-22, 26
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them
that slept.  For since by man came death, by man came also the
resurrection of the dead.  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive….The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

Deut 30:19-20a
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set
before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that
both thou and thy seed may live:  That thou mayest love the LORD thy
God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave
unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days

John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not
the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1 John 5:9-13
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is
the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.  He that believeth on
the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath
made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his
Son.  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this
life is in his Son.  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the
Son of God hath not life.  These things have I written unto you that believe
on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life,
and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

What we remember on Good Friday is what Jesus Christ did for us – paid the penalty for our sins
Forgiveness and eternal life comes by believing and trusting Jesus.

The desire of this father’s heart:  All my children have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
and God the Father in heaven.
