“Weary”
Are you weary, tired and exhausted, of the conditions in your life and of waiting on the Lord to intervene?
Jeremiah, the weeping prophet was. He was weary of the wicked prospering, but the Lord asked him how he was going to continue if/when things got worse (Jer 12:1-5). He was weary of being mocked and hated by everyone, but he could not but speak the truth (Jer 20:7-9).
David, a man after God’s own heart, was. He was tearfully weary of waiting for God’s deliverance from his enemies (Ps 6:3-6, Ps 69:1-4).
As He did with Jeremiah and David, the Lord
knows we are weary from time to time. He
gives an encouraging Word to the weary (Is 50:4). He tells us to lean on Jesus when we are weary (Heb 12:1-3).
And He encourages and empowers those who are weary to wait on Him and to
keep following Him (Gal 6:9, 2 Thes 3:13, Is 40:28-31). .
